Our Programs

The WRP works to achieve its mission by engaging community members, businesses, towns, organizations, and agencies to help us implement on-the-ground programs designed to monitor water quality; protect and improve the river and its watershed; raise awareness about watershed issues; and promote watershed stewardship at the local level.

Our current programs include:
Water Quality Monitoring – Monitoring water quality helps us understand the health of the watershed and prioritize our resources and restoration efforts.

Trees for Streams Program – Working with willing landowners, we are planting native trees and shrubs along the river to stabilize stream banks and restore fish and wildlife habitat.

River Restoration Program – Through restoration projects and river corridor planning, we are working to improve water quality and reduce flood damage.

Outreach and Education Program – Through an ongoing series of presentations and events, we are raising awareness about the watershed issues that affect us all.

Stewardship Program – By providing a range of volunteers opportunities and supporting the efforts of our grassroots work groups, we are promoting watershed stewardship at the local level.
