Landscape Auction a SUCCESS!

On Saturday, August 14, the WRP hosted the USA’s first Landscape Auction at Vermont Technical College in Randolph Center. By all accounts, this first-in-the-US event was a resounding success!

Auction highlights

150 people attended – individuals came from Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, and Massachusetts

Over 30 items sold – the highest-price item sold was a public access area conservation project at Pinch Rock on the White River in Royalton; the item sold for $7,200 via donations from Vermont Law School staff & faculty, White River Partnership individual & business members, and individual event attendees

$20,000 raised – donations ranged from $25 to $3,500

Event highlights – Rusty DeWees as celebrity auctioneer, meeting participating landowners, hayrides to VTC farm centers, live radio broadcast from Oldies 104.3FM, local food tasting including Cabot cheese, Hurricane Flats popcorn, Champlain Orchard apple cider and Green Mountain Coffee
