Mary Russ joined the White River Partnership as executive director in September 2006, but she has been involved with the WRP as a volunteer on the Down Stream Team since 2001. Since moving to Vermont in 2000, Mary has worked as a freelance reporter with the Vermont Environmental Monitor, a facilitator at a local management consulting company, and as a career counselor at Vermont Law School. Mary moved to Vermont from western North Carolina where she worked in the outdoor recreation field and as a riparian zone restoration intern with the U.S. Forest Service. Mary graduated from Davidson College with a Bachelor’s degree in religion and she earned a Master of Studies in Environmental Law degree from Vermont Law School in South Royalton, Vermont. She, her husband, Greg, and their puppy, Caddis, live in Royalton where Mary is a commissioner on the Royalton Conservation Commission.
